Marvin & Rico （3）:85 in a 65: The Speeding Ticket That Almost Wrecked Marvin
Marvin and Rico were flying down the highway, windows down, music cranking. They were on their way to check out a new investment property — a fixer-upper with good bones and questionable plumbing.
Marvin: (tapping the wheel)
“Road trips build character. And we’re building it fast. Plus, this property is going to be worth every mile.”
Rico: “You mean you’re building it at 85 in a 65?”
Marvin: “Speed limits are just suggestions. Like yogurt expiration dates.”
Rico: “That’s not how either of that work.”
Flash! Red and blue lights fill the rearview mirror.
Marvin: (gripping the wheel) “Oh no. Oh no, no. Rico”
Rico: “Told you.”
The officer walks up to the window.
Officer: “Afternoon. License and registration. You two in a hurry?”
Marvin: (fumbling) “We’re just excited to check out a new property, officer. I didn’t realize…”
Officer: “Do you know how fast you were going?”
Marvin: “Well, Rico said this was the fastest route, so I…”
Officer: “85 in a 65.”
Marvin: (muttering) “We’re doomed. My insurance is gonna eat me alive.”
The officer returns with a ticket.
Officer: “Thirty days to pay or appear in court. Slow down, sir.”
Marvin: (staring at the ticket) “$250?! Plus points. Plus insurance hikes. Plus my soul. Rico, that’s just too much.”
